H4S Co-chairs identify THREE CHALLENGES

Support New Website by giving

As your Harmonize for Speech Co-Chairs, we are excited to announce that our H4S Website, originally developed by Bruce Dibble, has been updated by Past District President Michael Black and our Treasurer David Smith. Also, we are thrilled that Michael has agreed to be our Webmaster. Please have a look at the new website, harmonize4speech.org, and we know you will be impressed. We hope you agree that our seven-minute “Speaking of Courage” film produced at COTS “says it all”. The film is timeless! A half-hour version of “Speaking of Courage” was seen by an American University Graduate. He learned that there wasn’t a program at Duke for students who stutter, so he donated over a million dollars to establish such a program. He even came up to Toronto to interview us. That’s the power of a website and harmonize4speech.org deserves your support. That is your FIRST challenge!

Obituaries and wills – name H4S as gifting beneficiary

As you are aware, the pandemic has severely restricted chapters from raising funds for H4S. Historically speaking close to 25% of our funds are received when Harmonize4Speech is named in obituaries or estates, etc. Could you make it known to family and friends how important this small gesture is, because currently only one in ten obituaries within our Ontario District community include that information – a sad statistic!  This is your SECOND Challenge.

Sing “Our (Canadian) Song” to close your chapter meetings

Thank you for your continued support of a most worthy cause. Now that we are back to singing together live, let us please end all our meetings by singing “We Sing That They Shall Speak”. For some chapters, that may well be your THIRD Challenge!

Thank you as always for your encouragement and support, even in these difficult times.

In harmony and song,

Jim Finlay and George Shields

Co-chairs,
