Types of Donation

There are many ways in which you can help those who struggle to communicate because of speech and language challenges. You can donate as:

  • An Individual
  • A corporation
  • A singing or performing group (e.g. Quartet, VLQ, Choir, Chorus etc.)
  • Anonymously

All donors are recorded in the “Roll of Honour” book kept at Harmony Hall in East York, Ontario.

Tax Receipts

All donations qualify for a tax receipt if you pay Income Taxes in Canada. Please ensure we have your name, full street address and email address to be able to issue your Tax Receipt.  We are an all volunteer organisation with no salaries and very little administrative overhead,  so 100% of your donation goes in service of the communication challenged people in Ontario.

Tribute Donations

You may wish to honour someone special with a donation. Perhaps as a thank you to a person or a group who are special to you. This is called a Living Tribute. You can tell us who it is that you are honouring, and if you wish we can let them know that you have done this and thank them on your behalf.

In Memoriam

Perhaps you wish to remember a loved one who is now deceased. This is an In Memoriam Tribute.   This is a most thoughtful and generous donation and is by far the most frequent type of donation that we receive.  People that you memorialize in this way are recorded in the “Memorial Book” which is kept at Harmony Hall in East York. You can also arrange to have an e-Card sent to someone who may appreciate knowing you donated to Harmonize for Speech (H4S) in memory of that special person that you are honouring.

Recurring Donations

Select either the Credit Card or the EFT (bank-to-bank Electronic Funds Transfer) options. You can indicate whether you want a single tax receipt at the end of the year or a separate tax receipt with each donation.
